Teaching

We run both RYA Theory (Day Skipper and Yachtmaster) and RYA Practical courses (from Start Yachting through to Yachtmaster Prep) from our base at Torpoint, opposite Plymouth on the River Tamar.  On Practical courses, the teaching ratio is 1:4, and the price includes moorings, all food, the use of waterproofs if required and fuel.  The only extra cost is beer money and if you need to hire one, £10 for a sleeping bag (to cover laundry costs).

Plymouth Sound and its rivers are an excellent sheltered training area should the weather be less than benign.  However, on a five day course, our usual ports of call are some of the following:  River Yealm, Cawsand/Kingsand, Polperro, Fowey, Mevagissey, Falmouth, Helford and Fal Rivers, as well as stopping to anchor in sheltered coves .
