We offer all RYA Training - both Practical & Theory Courses without the high class cuisine of the cruises (you have to put up with my and your efforts!):
- Dates are tailored to meet your requirements rather than our needs, joining Friday, Sunday, or mid-week.
- RYA Start Yachting over one weekend: a taster for complete beginners.
- RYA Competent Crew and RYA Day Skipper either over 5 days or 3 weekends.
- RYA Coastal Skipper and RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Preparation Courses over 5 or 7 days, including the examination.
- International Certificate of Competence & CEVNI (inland waterways) assessments.
- 5/6 day (or three weekend) intensive shore-based RYA Day Skipper & RYA Yachtmaster Theory courses.
- 2 day RYA Navigation theory course.
- 9 day combined theory/practical courses for RYA Day Skipper.
- Mile builder cruises towards RYA Yachtmaster.

RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Practical pre-examination requirements:
• 2,500 miles logged within 10 years prior to the examination, at least half of them tidal.
• 50 days living on board.
• 5 days as skipper.
• 5 passages over 60 miles, at least 2 of which must have been as skipper and 2 of which must have involved overnight passages.
• a valid First Aid Certificate.
• a Restricted (VHF) Radio Operators’ Licence/GMDSS.
The examination is given by an RYA examiner and takes 8-12 hours for each candidate. The exam fee is £170 paid directly to the RYA Examiner. |
