Sunny skies and fair winds - the best days

Welcome to a West Country RYA Sailing School that is a little different.

  • We use Westerly Yachts.  The MCA stability ratings of our Westerly Ketch and Westerly Discus are category 2, which means it can be used commercially up to 60 miles from a safe haven. The survey actually rated the Ketch as category 1 - 120 miles from a safe haven!  Both carry a full inventory of safety equipment.

  • One vessel is a ketch, the other a sloop.  Both Gypsy Moth IV & Lively Lady, the first two single-handed round the world yachts of Sir Francis Chichester and Sir Alec Rose are ketches.   A ketch can give a flexibility of sail set not found on a sloop.

  • We offer RYA Training - both Practical and Theory Courses.

  • We also offer seven day fully catered gourmet sailing cruises, with the added availability of RYA Practical Training Course if required.  These will cruise either the West Country, or the coast of Brittany and the Channel Isles.

  • Bespoke courses - we will tailor dates, itinerary and timings to suit you.
